Maiwa Revenge Or the War of the Little Hand H Rider Haggard 9781533102775 Books Reviews

I love the entire Quatermain series. I can't wait to read them all. We need more writers like this today.
All the Henry Rider Haggard novels are great adventures. Perfect for winding down after a tough week.
Thankfully, he wrote a lot of them, and they are all free on for the .
A good revenge story.. Nothing less, nothing more!
Great
As with all the Quartermain books, it is delightfully politically incorrect due to being written by a Brit a long long time ago. Fun and entertaining.
The stories of "The Great White Hunter" who's a good guy. Written truthfully with no PC, in a better time.
Loved it. Simple little story of hunting and against all odds heroic battles from Quartermain for the wronged damsel in Darkest Africa. Even better than some of Haggards longer adventures as keeps rolling throughout and was thoroughly satisfied despite brevity. Not PC now as one does blanch occasionally at the gratuitous hunting, and life for natives is definitely cheaper than for white folk. But that's politics rather than Boys own adventure stuff and views at the time of writing were dramatically different, albeit wrong. Am not saying today's general views are correct but certainly find some fault in the thinking if the day. Still a rattling good read now that finds the inner adventurer most of us lost along about the same time as our short trousers.
